Humboldt IPA and NCHIIN are seeking an Accountant to manage accounting operations, payroll, financial reporting, and grant accounting activities. This position plays a key role in ensuring the financial health and compliance of both organizations.
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable:
Oversee accounts payable processing and ensure timely payment of invoices.
Review invoices for accuracy, process payments, and submit for approval and signature.
Reconcile all accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
Invoice IPA health plans and NCHIIN support plans.
Monitor and pursue unpaid balances.
Payroll & Employee Benefits:
Process employee payroll through the Paycom system and ensure the following are accurate:
Payroll tax liabilities and reporting.
Workers' Compensation and other payroll-related liabilities.
Allocate employee wages appropriately between IPA, NCHIIN, and grant-funded programs.
Bank Reconciliations:
Record daily electronic deposits and deductions for the IPA general account.
Record monthly TCD interest accruals.
Perform monthly reconciliations of bank, money market, and TCD accounts, with special attention to claim account activity, including proper tracking and documentation of voided, cancelled, and stopped payments.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly financial statements for Boards of Directors and management.
Calculate and track depreciation according to policy.
Review income and expense accounts and prepare necessary accrual and amortization entries.
Submit quarterly reports for DMHC and HMO plans, and annual reports to DMHC.
Assist with annual financial audits.
Additional Duties:
Reconcile grant revenue and expenses
Other duties as needed.
Required:
Minimum two years of full-charge bookkeeping experience.
CPA preferred but not required. (additional wage considered for CPA)
