This is the most petite of four studio apartments that comprise the upper floor of the big red Victorian at the the corner of 10th and F streets, in downtown Arcata, across from Adventure's Edge and around the corner from Renata's Creperie.
These spaces all have their own kitchen facilities but they share a common bathroom between the four residents, which is why they are a more affordable option than a standard fully self contained studio apartment. But the experience is essentially that of having your own place, but with friendly neighbors that you run into sometimes.
This space is quite small but light and bright with tall ceilings, two big windows, a good sized closet and its own cooking facilities. Works well for a single or double bed, but a queen would be a little crowded. (Pictures show furniture, but this is an unfurnished space. Bed may be able to stay if someone wants it, but usually folks have their own stuff).
Everyone pitches in to keep the bathroom very clean and the system works well for sharing between four. Current residents are mid/late twenties through early fifties - mixed men/women. All four current residents have been in place for between 2 1/2 to 5+ years, which speaks to the comfortable nature of the arrangement. Given the shared bathroom situation we will only be considering a single occupant.
Terrific location in terms of walkability - about one and a half blocks from the plaza, close to restaurants, supermarkets, public transportation, and everything downtown Arcata has to offer. Cal Poly campus is about 5 or 6 blocks away - about a ten minute walk, and while there is no onsite laundry, there is a laundromat one block away from the house. No onsite parking but easy street parking within a block or so once you exit the downtown parking zone - overnight parking is never an issue right by the house, but daytime parking is 2-4 hours and can get busy during farmer's market etc.
Looking for someone who is a courteous neighbor and who is strictly pet and smoke/vape free.
Rent is $745/month and includes water, sewer, garbage and recycling, and hot water heater. Tenant pays own PG&E (should be very low unless you run a space heater a lot) and own internet (may be option to share). Security deposit is $950. Available late November/early December.
