Mr DDDs Arcata

Does anyone out there remember Mr. DDD‘s in Arcata, late 80s-90s? It was on the plaza, a vegetarian restaurant that was notorious for deep frying their french fries in ghee. (Tasted kind of greasy imho) It didn’t last very long and as I heard it, the employees sold off the equipment because the paychecks were bouncing. My question is was this restaurant related to Guy Fieri? I see now that he has a DDD thing going on, diners, drive-ins and dives or something like that. Was he the owner of Mr. DDD‘s? If you’re wondering, the location was where big blue is now. I remember when it went in, they spent a lot of money on it, using rare rainforest hardwoods that you can still see in big blue. It had kind of fast food vibe, with a kiosk from behind which they would greet you when you walked in. I was working at wildflower so all of us militant vegetarian types were up in arms with at the idea of competition.
