Position Summary
A Senior Millwork Engineer’s primary responsibility is to interpret architectural plans and to produce CAD drawings and Bills of Material (BOMs) for the production and purchasing processes and teams. They have demonstrated high proficiency with the Tools available and a clear understanding of Crestmark standards and requirements. They will be relied upon to lead large and complex projects and will sometimes be responsible for leading other team members in those projects.
Location / Hours / Reporting Structure
The Senior Millwork Engineer will primarily work in Crestmark’s Arcata, California facilities, but may be required to travel to vendors, customers, trade shows or installation sites on occasion. The position will typically require work from 7am to 4pm, Monday through Friday, but may require additional hours in the evenings or on weekends on occasion.
The Senior Millwork Engineer will work with a team of Engineers, participate on cross-functional project teams, and report directly to the Engineering Manager.
Position Responsibilities
Day-to-day responsibilities of a Senior Engineer may include individual and team-based activities, including:
• Learning and communicating production objectives/goals, project requirements, and assignments.
• Monitoring and communicating issues or obstacles to management.
• Interpreting architectural plans and project specifications while applying relevant codes and standards.
• Producing CAD drawings for production including CNC-ready outputs for all components.
• Creating BOMs for all projects and their components for purchasing and costing.
• Developing an in-depth understanding of the assigned projects and providing guidance to co-workers as needed to keep the project on track.
• Working with the customers, architects, project teams, and sub-contractors to define quality standards.
• Working with project teams to ensure production clarity and solve engineering issues.
• Working with installation teams to ensure clear instructions for proper installation.
• Assisting in the development and continuous improvement of the company quality system.

Qualification expectations for a Senior Millwork Engineer at Crestmark include:
• High school diploma required. AA degree or more schooling preferred.
• 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication workplace.
• Demonstrated CAD and drafting experience with understanding of drawing standards required.
• Working knowledge of Microvellum, AutoCAD, Sketchup, and Fusion software preferred.
• Knowledge of quality methodologies and frameworks desired.
Position Demands
The physical and time demands of a Senior Millwork Engineer may be significant. A person in this position must be able to:
• Spend many hours in front of a computer screen operating software.
• Move confidently and safely around sites where manufacturing or installations are occurring.
• Hear and communicate effectively with others while working in loud environments.
• Work non-standard hours, including weekends, nights or holidays when needed.
• Occasional travel may be required.
