condition: fair

model name / number: 12A - LUC
size / dimensions: 6’ cut
1949 John Deere 12A combine, it’s the LUC pull-behind model. The canvases have been stored dry and are in good shape, and I have all of the original manuals. The machine is still in decent shape but it will need either some sheet metal work or some rust-hole patching on a couple of the clean outs on the bottom augers and some holes along the grain tank (I can email close-up pictures of the trouble zones). The body, frame, fan housing and majority of the auger casings are still solid. The cutter, paddles, belts, tires and internal screens etc are all still good. I did an overhaul on the engine when I bought it back in 2015, and we got it to start with one or two cranks every time. It ran great for 5 harvests and then it sat tarpped in the field for the last few seasons. I ran the carburetor dry and emptied the fuel tank before storing it, as well as topping the cylinders with oil and I turned the crank periodically.
