My 1967 D-28, with outstanding Brazilian rosewood, was sent to the Martin factory where they put on a new Adirondack spruce top, braced and trimmed like a 1937 Herringbone. The neck was replaced by a 1937 shape (1 3/4" nut) and trim T-bar neck.
The guitar ended up like a Martin D-28 1937 Authentic, but with Brazilian rosewood. It is very close to what someone would have walked out the store with in 1937.
At this point it has some minor wear similar to what the level 1 aging process would give. The guitar plays and sounds great!
It has a K&K pickup and comes in a Canadian Calton case.
