I was hit by a car while crossing a crosswalk in Arcata 2 weeks ago. My foot is now in an external fixation device and I am completely disabled. I won't be able to walk for perhaps 4 months. I need an emergency foster home for my two male cats. They are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, about 4 years old, and indoor/outdoor cats. I would be also open to the fosters eventually adopting them, if they fell in love with them. They have to be kept inside your home for at least 2 months, or they will disappear and look for me and their home. Once they learn that you are their person, they can be indoor outdoor cats. They are very shy of people, Theo more so than Oliver. Theo is the black one in Oliver is the tabby. Oliver will probably hide for a week or so but then he'll come out and meet you and slowly learn to trust you. Theo requires a very sweethearted soul, someone who understands that he will be hiding under the bed for about a month before he comes out. He is the most shy, but once he trusts you and gets to know you, he turns into Mr sweetie pie snuggle bugs and wants to lay on top of you, doesn't want to be far from you, and is a much more affectionate cat. Oliver loves to lay next to you, he loves to be scratched, he loves his treats, and he loves to go outside. These are good boys, they're not aggressive towards other cats but they are terrified of dogs. They would not be happy as permanent indoor cats. If you are able to foster them and keep them inside your home the whole time until I am on my feet again and can take care of them, then I can financially compensate you for taking care of them. If you end up getting attached and wanting to keep them, then you can let them out, once they know that your home is their new home, they will come back and not run away. Please call me if you have any questions about them or want to come over and meet them. You will probably be able to meet Oliver, but Theo will be hiding under the bed. I cannot take care of them while I am injured and healing and I need to find another placement for them.
