Position Overview
Alliance Gas is seeking an experienced, professional, and highly motivated Retail Store Manager to oversee daily operations at our Arcata, CA location. As the Store Manager, you will be the driving force behind the station's success, ensuring operational excellence, maintaining high standards of customer service, and leading a dedicated team.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of retail/c-store operations, and a hands-on approach to managing both staff and store financials.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and supervise store associates to ensure high performance, excellent customer service, and adherence to company policies.
Daily Operations: Manage all aspects of the daily retail store and gas station operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and fully stocked environment.
Financial Reporting: Accurately complete and review daily shift reports, reconcile sales, manage cash drops, and track inventory.
POS Management: Efficiently operate and manage the Point of Sale (POS) system, troubleshooting minor issues and ensuring staff are properly trained on the platform.
Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, including safety regulations, environmental standards, and age-restricted sales (tobacco/alcohol if applicable).
Required Experience & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 1.5+ years of proven retail store management experience (Gas station or Convenience Store experience is highly preferred).
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with POS systems and a solid understanding of closing shift reports and basic retail accounting.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to train and develop employees, manage shift schedules, and build a cohesive team.
Professionalism: Exceptional communication skills, a professional demeanor, and a strong work ethic.
Problem-Solving: Ability to handle operational challenges and customer inquiries with a calm, solution-oriented mindset.
