This is a great computer, going strong even after 11 years. No hardware or stability issues. Manjaro Linux installed, single boot setup, no OS X, not that you want to be running OS X on this hardware as it would be awful. I run Linux.on my Macs as it really runs fast, no chug, smooth.and wonderful experience.
New screen installed by a 3rd party tech in 2019, I'm 100% sure it's a legit Apple panel, as I just don't see fake OEMs floating around, and the screen is as gorgeous as ever. No dead pixels, or scratches.
Original battery, sometimes it lasts 2 hours playing videos, sometimes it just.collapses to zero. Certainly strong enough for moving sockets without issue, it is not the perfect laptop for a day's work after from a socket.
Suspend, Bluetooth & WiFi work. WiFi doesn't connect to WPA3 networks, because of a driver no longer being updated. So either stick to WPA2 or less, or grab a USB adaptor.
This is one of the last great Intel macs, the keyboard has great depth, the screen is up there with the best, even by today's standards. Comes with og charger & a spare, which although I bought off eBay, I'm pretty certain is legit Apple product.
Firefox, 4k video, general desktop applications run great. Fresh install of Manjaro, previously securely wiped. This is a great little computer, which has been treated well since I got it new, treat it well & it could really do another 10 years (no warranty).
16gb ram, soldiered on, 512gb nvme which is upgradeable, this is the original drive & still works flawlessly, no dead sectors or errors thrown.
Honestly, if I didn't want to play with local ai models, I would've never upgraded, this is a fantastic computer, Apple sexy, but with the longevity of Linux.
