Position Responsibilities
Day-to-day responsibilities of a Crestmark Delivery Driver may include:
Safe Transportation: Safely and efficiently transport commercial millwork products to various locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
Unloading: Coordinate the unloading of millwork components at commercial jobsites in and around the SF Bay Area as well as Oregon, Washington and Nevada.
Route Planning: Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, considering factors like traffic, weather, and delivery schedules to ensure on-time deliveries.
Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle, reporting any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate department.
Documentation: Maintain accurate delivery records, including delivery manifests, invoices, and customer signatures, to ensure proper tracking of delivered products.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate driver logs and DVR’s as required by the California DOT.
Product Knowledge: Develop a strong understanding of our millwork products to answer basic customer questions and ensure correct delivery placement.
Adherence to Policies: Follow company policies and procedures regarding delivery protocols, safety guidelines, and customer interaction standards.
Customer Interaction: Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, including courteous communication and addressing any inquiries or concerns that may arise.
Problem Solving: Address any delivery discrepancies, product defects, or customer complaints professionally and promptly, escalating issues as needed.
Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with the warehouse team, dispatch, and management regarding delivery status, delays, and potential issues.
Time Management: Effectively manage time and prioritize tasks to meet delivery schedules while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Shipping Assistant: Assist in the shipping department preparing items to be delivered.
Qualification expectations for a Delivery Driver position at Crestmark include:
High school diploma required.
Possess and maintain a valid class C driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record. Class A license is preferred.
Prior experience as a delivery driver, preferably in a commercial or construction-related industry, is desirable.
Ability to lift heavy objects (limited to 50lbs), load, and unload millwork components, and perform physically demanding tasks associated with the role.
Strong commitment to safety protocols and safe driving practices.
Demonstrated punctuality, dependability, and a strong work ethic.
Ability to keep a flexible schedule, occasionally arriving at jobsites before dawn or at night as required.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and address their needs.
Keen attention to detail when handling and transporting delicate millwork products.
Ability to think on your feet, make sound decisions, and resolve issues independently.
Clear and effective verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to follow directions, and complete detailed tasks with excellent quality.
Position Demands
The physical and time demands of a Delivery Driver may be significant. A person in this position must be able to:
Move confidently and safely around sites where manufacturing or installations are occurring.
Safely and confidently maneuver large trucks around commercial jobsites and through busy city traffic.
Safely lift or carry heavy items, weighing up to 50 pounds, around work sites or production facilities.
Hear and communicate effectively with others while working in loud environments.
Operate company vehicles and machinery in a safe manner as needed.
